It's recommended to put all used equipment at the
highest firmware version. Or in case of differences, select they
one conform at your installation plan.
This procedure describe how to perform an overall
firmware upgrade through a firmware update provide by HP.
Note: The Screen shots are only for information
purpose
This can be done through 2 ways:
Local on
the system
Remote
through iLO
Both are similar for the tasks it self. But
through iLO requires some additional steps:
Open a
browser an enter the iLO IP Address
Press
enter on the security alert
Enter a
valid user ID and password. Press 'Log In'
Select on
the tabs 'Virtual Devices' and select 'Virtual Media'
If
presented press 'Yes' or 'Always' (if you want to avoid to have
this window again)
If
presented, press 'Yes'
If
presented, press 'Yes' or 'Always'
Initial
screen presented
Select
'Local Image File' and browse towards the ISO image of the latest
firmware CD. (If available as ISO on you system)
Press
'Connect'
Leave this window or minimize. But do not close this window.
Reboot
the server through 'Virtual Device' or by logging into the system
remotely, or by logging into by remote iLO console
Go back
to the initial window. Select 'Remote Console' - Remote
Console
Initial
boot screen when starting from CD. Be sure you boot from CD

Screen. It may be the case that you need to re-open the remote
console through iLO at several times, when the screen blanks or
contains weird characters.
Select
'English'
Press 'Continue' in the left corner
Press
'Agree'
Select
'Firmware Update'
Select
'Install Firmware'. (In case you 're updating a enclosure you can
select that item)
System
will now try to discover all installed items.
The
system will now provide you a list of all discovered items. For all
of these items it'll also mention if an update exists, and which it
is.
If you
agree with all items. Press 'Select All', followed by
'Install'
Info
screen during installation. If you also install 'iLO ROM Flash', it
may be the case that you lost connection and that you need to
re-login into the iLO interface.
Installation results
Press on
'Reboot Node'. Click on Yes on the question if you agree to
reboot.

on which we're going to install in further steps in this
procedure.
